A 22-year-old girl identified as Vera Uwaila Omozuwa who was brutally r*ped and beaten on Wednesday night, May 26, at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, in Benin, Edo State has died.

Uwa was a 100 level student of the University of Benin, from the department of Microbiology, faculty of Life Science.

NKB reported that the young lady had gone to the church to read at night, when some hooligans attacked and brutalized her with a fire extinguisher, before proceeding to r*pe her right there in the Church.

Miss Vera was rushed to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), where she battled for her dear life at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

In the graphic pictures, the young lady was unconscious, her head and parts of her face were being stitched up.

She, however, gave up the ghost Saturday midnight, May 30, following excess loss of blood and deep cuts sustained from the attack.
