Ignatius Ajuru University Lecturer Suspended For Impregnating A Student

Ignatius Ajuru University,

A lecturer identified as Dr Rowland Igwe, has been suspended by the management of Ignatius Ajuru
University, Port Harcourt, Rivers State for alleged sexual harassment of a female student.

According to reports, the Lecturer was alleged to be involved in sex for marks activities. He was said to have impregnated one of his students which further led to some complications.

Confirming the suspension of Dr Rowland Igwe, Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Ozo-mekuri Ndimele, in a Facebook post, said the matter has been referred to the disciplinary body in the school for investigation. 

“Management has placed Dr Igwe of the Department of Sociology on indefinite suspension on allegation of sexual harassment, undue canal knowledge of a female undergraduate which resulted in her impregnation and other complications.

“The matter has been referred to the Council-Senate Committee on Staff Disciplinary Matters for further investigation,” Prof Ndimele stated.
