
Parading the suspect at the NSCDC Command headquarters in Lafia, the Commandant, Mr Mahmoud Fari said the suspect was apprehended following a tipoff.

Fari said he was at the point of distributing 30 NSCDC fake appointment letters, which he charged an accumulated sum of N13.6 million, to victims at Duduguru village in Obi Local Government Area of the state.

The suspect was said to have confessed to the crime while revealing that he sold the fake letters within the price range of N550,000 and N300,000, depending on the grade level, the unsuspecting victims applied for. Mr

Fari noted that the syndicate has been on the wanted list of the NSCDC. He cautioned the general public against falling for scams such as this, adding that NSCDC jobs were not for sale.
