Newborn Baby Found At A Church Alter In Ondo (Photo)

A newly born baby has been found on the altar of the Holy Fountain Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Oda Road, Akure, the Ondo State Capital.

According to reports, the child was discovered in the early hours of Wednesday, November 24, when some members of the church arrived.

It was learnt that the cry of the baby, forced the members to investigate where it was coming, only to find it lying on the church’s altar.

The baby was said to be wrapped in a green clothes and all efforts by the church to find out who left it proved abortive, as many asserted that the mother might have sneaked into the church in the wee hours of the morning to avoid being seen. When contacted, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, the spokesperson of the State Police Command, confirmed the incident, noting that the baby has been handed over to the State’s Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.
