According to reports, Anenih sued MTN to Court in 2014, after 50 naira was unlawfully deducted from his airtime for the unsolicited subscription of caller tunes.
It was gathered that all complains to MTN to stop the subscription, proved abortive. The aggrieved customer decided to drag the telecom network to the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Subsequently, MTN gave Anenih 700 bonus airtime, which the court declared, was not compensating enough.
Justice Ishaq Bello, who presided over the case found MTN guilty and ordered the network to pay the sum of 5,000,000,000 naira to Emmanuel for disturbing his peace and an additional 500,000 naira for legal expenses.
