The fire incident, which is said to be the second of its kind in one month, was suspected to have started from a cooking stove. It was learnt that the fire was put out almost immediately by the university’s fire service.
Confirming the development, the director of public relations at the university, Danjuma Gambo, said preliminary investigations had shown that the incident was caused by a kerosene explosion, and that the three female victims were in the hospital.
