Severed body parts suspected to have belonged to Ms Florence Wanjiku, a college student who went missing
about a couple of months ago have been found in a maize farm in Maendeleo village, Ndaragwa Constituency, Nyandarua County, Kenya.
The body parts were discovered by farmers who were harvesting maize from the plantation in the Nyandarua County village. Some of the organs that were found, included a skull, ribs, and pelvic bone.
According to the acting sub-county police commander Paul Saitoti, Florence Wanjiku, who was a student at Thika Technical Training Institue, was reported missing on December 17, 2019.
The Police boss revealed that they received information from Muruai Location Chief Mary Muthoni that members of the public who were harvesting maize at the farm had encountered a human skull wrapped in a cream-coloured pullover with some personal effects of the deceased scattered on the said farm.
“Police rushed to the scene and found the body parts as well as a handbag, high-heeled shoes and lady clothes.
“They also recovered national identity cards that belong to Dorcas Wairimu Murachia and Penina Wangare Murachia, the deceased’s mother and grandmother respectively.
The discovered organs were taken to Nyahururu Sub-county Referral Hospital for preservation as police continues to investigate the case which has quickly turned from a missing person's to a murder one.
