The bridge has been an alternative route for residents since #EndSARS protesters blocked the Lekki toll gates 13 days ago.

The protesters, who have been demanding for an end to police brutality had refused to leave the streets until their demands were met.
The fire outbreak was recorded after Nigerian soldiers opened fire on peaceful and armless protesters at the Lekki toll gate.
More than 11 persons have been reported killed and their bodies, evacuated by the Soldiers to an unknown destination.

The killings which many are calling a “genocide” have sparked outrage on social media, as Nigerians are calling for justice.
