Comedian Basketmouth, Wizkid, Mock FG Over Production Of Local COVID-19 Vaccines

Nigerian comedian, Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth has reacted to reports that the federal government released funds for the production of locally-made COVID-19 vaccines in Nigeria.

According to the Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, who spoke on Monday at the briefing by the Presidential Task Force (PTF), said the presidency released a whopping sum of N10 billion.

Ehanire revealed that the Federal Government is working to develop the country’s own vaccines and is already in the discussions with a producer.

He, however, noted that while the nation seeks to get its own vaccines, other options are being explored for licensed production in collaboration with recognized institutions.

Reacting to the reports, Basketmouth took to his social media page to call Nigeria a legend, adding that the country could not produce simple things like toothpicks and candles, let alone a vaccine.

Here's what he wrote;

“Nigeria is a LEGEND. We import candles, toothpicks, palm oil, beans, wooden doors, Garri etc....but we want to locally produce COVID 19 vaccines?

COVID 19 vaccines!! Made in Nigeria?!!

Nigeria is a legend.

Nigeria is a legend.”

Taking to the comedian’s comment section, popular singer, Wizkid also had a thing or two to say about the report.
