The images met with lots of criticisms and the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) at the Force Headquarters immediately moved in, arresting the officers.
The suspects who have been arraigned in court are Aroye Dickson, Emmanuel Michael, Sunday Odubiyi and Lawrence Amedu.
Lagos police spokesman, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, revealed that the police officers confessed to the crime and have also returned the money to the student.
The state police commissioner, Hakeem Odumosu, condemned the act, saying it is detrimental to the reform agenda of the Force.
He warned that the Command will spread its tentacles in fighting against such crimes and other unprofessional acts among police officers in Lagos State.
He also ordered for immediate commencement of the officers’ trial so as to serve as a deterrent to other criminally-minded police personnel in the police command.
