Popular Nollywood Actor, Ernest Asuzu Slumps And Dies



According to information gathered, popular Nigerian actor, Ernest Asuzu slumped and died around 9pm on Tuesday.

It was also learnt that his wife called fellow actor, Desmond Elliot to announce Asuzu’s demise to him.

Top Nigerian journalist at The Guardian Nigeria, Shaibu Husseini, also took to his Facebook account to confirm the passage of Asuzu.

Until his death, Ernest was said to have been battling with stroke since 2014. In January, 2020 a video of the actor pleading for help went viral on social media. 

In February, the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN) announced it was making plans to help Ernest get back on his feet. President of the guild, Emeka Rollas, said;

 “Other AGN members have begun to respond to the directives of the association toward assisting Asuzu. Ernest Asuzu is one of us. I have always identified with him since he developed stroke until there was a break in communication between them, but thank God that we have reconnected.” E

Ernest Asuzu was also a rapper and producer. He is also known as El Cream and was born in Imo State.
In an interview with Premium Times, when asked if he was ready to come back to Nollywood after 8 years of absence, the actor had revealed that he knew his problems were spiritual. He also added that he had released an album. 

“Yes, I am and that’s why I recently launched a 7-track album titled, The Truth. Yes, I am back, better, and stronger. I miss going to movie locations, my colleagues, and the financial benefits of my job. I know that all that happened to me is spiritual. I know a lot of what happened to me through my experiences in this journey is spiritual.

“I have always known God. I am not just knowing God today. Most people do not understand this aspect of me. They see me as what I portray on screen. That is make-believe. I have always aligned myself with God. If I wasn’t an actor, I would have been a pastor. I have plans to set up a church in the nearest future,” he had said.
