Two Friends Charged For Gang-Raping And Filming 19-Year-Old Girl In Ogun



Two 30-year-olds identified as Oluwadamilare Oyeniyi and Okoriji Emmanuel have on Wednesday, been remanded in a correctional centre by a Magistrates’ Court in Ota, Ogun state for allegedly gang-raping and filming a 19-year-old girl.

According to reports, the police charged the two friends with two counts of conspiracy and rape.

The state counsel, Oluwole Ayede told the court that the suspects committed the offence on December 12, 2020 at their residence in Sango Ota area of Ogun. 

He also alleged that Oyeniyi and Emmanuel were caught making a video recording of their crime. An offence, which Ayede said, contravened the provisions of sections 358 and 516 of Vol.1 Criminal Code Vol.1, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
Shotunde Shotayo, the magistrate presiding over the case, did not take the plea of Oyeniyi and Emmanuel. 

He ordered the police to return the case file to the Ogun Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice. 

The magistrate adjourned the matter until March 5.
