
It was gathered that Jaywon was driving to a destination when policemen, who were monitoring compliance with the curfew, stopped him at about 11pm on Monday and took him into custody.

The singer was later taken to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, Yaba, where his statement was taken after which, he was charged before a mobile court.
During the court proceedings on Tuesday, May 5, Jaywon reportedly pleaded guilty and the presiding magistrate ordered him to pay a fine of 10,000 naira. He was also sentenced to 30 minutes of community service.
Confirming the report, Bala Elkana, Police Public Relations Officer, said Jaywon was among 179 persons arrested for violating the curfew and refusing to use face masks in the state.

He also revealed that 79 vehicles were impounded for violating the curfew.
